Step 1: How do I authorise the Xero & enableHR relationship and map branches between systems? (Australia Only)

Note: We strongly recommend you contact the Customer Success Team for guidance when setting up Xero Integration.

enableHR is a Xero Connected App partner.  This means enableHR is ready and trusted to receive information from Xero.

The enableHR XERO integration can import employees that exist in Xero into enableHR. They can also be mapped to a specific branch in enableHR if the correct integration mapping has been set up in both Xero and enableHR before the import.

Firstly, you'll need to identify the structure within your Xero and enableHR accounts to determine which steps to follow:

 Consideration If yes If no
Do you need to structure your enableHR account with several branches? (Whether it is separate locations, departments and/or teams) Use Steps B Use Steps A
Does your enableHR account not require branch set up and you're happy to have all the employee records imported in one branch? Use Steps A Use Steps B

Steps A - Importing employees all into one branch

1.  Navigate to "Actions" then click "Integrations" within your enableHR application. From here click on the "Xero" option.

2.  Enter your "Xero" log in credentials and then select "Login".

3. Select the applicable Xero organisation and then select "Authorise".

Note: If you have connected a Xero organisation with an enableHR account already, then the same Xero organization cannot connect to another enableHR account.

An already connected Xero organisation will be displayed in grey colour which indicates that it is unavailable for selection hence you cannot select it.

4.  You should see a message quickly display on the screen confirming that the authorisation has been successful.

5.  Confirm what options you want to activate, then select what type of import you want to run and click on "Proceed to Import".

  • As per the "Authoritative System" (see here)
  • All new or updated records from Xero since the last import, regardless of the Authoritative System
  • All new or updated records from Xero, regardless of the Authoritative System

6.  Finally, you will see the status page which confirm that the import has been successful.  You will now find the employees under the Employees tab in enableHR.

Steps B - Import employees directly into their respective enableHR branches

1.  Firstly, you can setup all employees in Xero by going to the "Payroll" tab and then selecting the "Employees" tab.

2.  You will need to ensure that each employee has an "Employee Group" assigned.  If you do not have any "Employee Groups" set up, please follow these instructions.

3.  You will also need to ensure that each employee within has a "branch" assigned.  If you do not have any "branches" set up, please follow these instructions.  Please ensure that you input an "Integration (API) Key" for each branch.

4.  There must be exactly the same value in both the enableHR "branch" and the Xero "Employee Group" in order for the integration to work (the fields are case and space sensitive).
