KiwiSaver Regulatory Changes

A new Temporary Rate Reduction option is now available in the KiwiSaver Status dropdown across enableHR and eSS. Selecting it reveals the relevant fields — Rate Reduction End Date, Employer Contribution %, Employee Contribution %, and ESCT % — with tooltip guidance on hover and a calendar picker for the end date.

Employee Contribution defaults to 3% under this status, while Active status requires 3.5% or higher, with validation errors surfaced in both the UI and API. RetirementSavings records can also now be created and retrieved via the API.

 

Temporary Rate Reduction

Rate reduction end date field is validated to accept only dates between 3 and 12 months from the current date. An info icon on the Rate Reduction End Date field in both systems displays the guidance: "Please select a date between 3 and 12 months or refer to KiwiSaver changes."

Temporary Rate Reduction details saved at the exact 3-month or 12-month boundary are supported and export correctly to iPayroll. The API also supports creating, updating, and retrieving Temporary Rate Redu

 

CloudPayroll Sync Updates

The CloudPayroll integration now correctly handles Employee IDs containing uppercase characters. Previously affected employee records will sync successfully to CloudPayroll and show as written successfully in the iHub report.

Employees that were already syncing — including those with commas in their bank account details — are unaffected and continue to sync as normal.

Also, records with valid tax details now export successfully to CloudPayroll.

 

iPayroll Sync Updates

  • iPayroll exports are more resilient — if a record is missing tax details, the export job now continues processing the rest of the batch instead of failing entirely.

  • Improved tax code handling for iPayroll — records with tax codes now export reliably, with support verified across all tax codes available in the system.
